What is the average cost with standard insurance of having a baby (non c-section) in the Indianapolis area?

I would like to get an idea of what people have paid who have:

Standard insurance
No c-section
Standard hospital stay

to have a baby in the Indianapolis area.

Thank you

  • Pregnant w/ #1 baby boy!!!:

standard insurance? well it really depends on what they cover.

an average cost of delivery is about $6000 and up. Depends on how long the mother or baby has to stay in the hospital

Well it really depends what you consider standard insurance..

Hubby and I have regular insurance through his work and all we have paid so far and will have to pay when said and done is..

$35 for my initial OB/GYN visit then all my appointments after that have been covered by my insurance. Then with our plan we will be responsible for up to $1200 of the hospital stay.. it will be less if there is no c-section.. it can be less depending on meds I get (but we are trying for natural birth) but I do know people who have children without insurance are responsible for anywhere around $15,000 after all is said and done so were getting a pretty good deal with my insurance.
